MEET THE TEAM

Meet Paul Berrow

My name is Paul Berrow and I am the Managing Director of Translift – I have been part of the company since December 2001.

Prior to joining Translift, I was a Sales Engineer for Jungheinrich and I was there for 5 years. Before that I had 3 years with DAC Plant in Birmingham as a Sales Engineer. Both roles were very different but they offered very good grounding for what was ahead in my career.

My first job was as a Trainee with Finning (CAT) in Cannock. This role, although helpful to meet professional people and engage with them, really wasn’t for me, as I wanted to be in Sales from an early age.

Translift has taught me to do pretty much everything to make a success of anything. Other companies before Translift had a very regimented system, so I had to do things by the book and micro-manage.

My time at Translift has allowed me to get the job done in a way that has benefited the company. As long as I made good profit, Translift were happy to let me get on with selling trucks.

We have always been at the forefront of solutions and getting the last 100mm into a building can be very rewarding. I still enjoy visiting sites that haven’t benefited from the Bendi revolution and I especially love to see the faces of customers when we show them what we can actually get into their sites.

We are constantly looking at other ways we can help our own customers and we also try to create new ideas all the time.

My personal value is to create a company that people want to come and work for. On the other hand, my personal goal is to make Translift into the best independent Materials Handling provider in the UK.

We already have a UK-wide Service network and we have plans to increase the company’s presence through acquisition and our Engineers in the future.

Outside of work, I like visiting different cultures and tasting different foods across the world. I used to play football at County Level and played for my local clubs Hednesford Town, Chasetown and Solihull Borough. I also represented Great Britain in Judo many years ago. Now, I like watching football and live sport events!

Also, I have recently taken up golf and joined my local golf club last year for the first time in my life!
