Meet Simon Barrell
My name is Simon Barrell and I am the South East Area Sales Manager at Translift – I joined the company around 30 years ago.
In terms of my industry experience, I started as a Production and Design Engineer when Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Trucks were Translift’s core business.
At that time, the Bendi Articulated Forklift was just one of Freddie Brown’s latest ideas and I was involved in taking it from sketches and various experimental models up to a production model about three years later.
From there I had the call of the road and have since been involved in the sales of the Bendi and other trucks from our range.
Over the years, working at Translift has taught me to always try to stay one step ahead with new ideas and to offer something that others haven’t thought of yet. Looking after our customers is also important, many have been with me as long as I have been selling trucks so I don’t take them for granted.
What I enjoy the most and find most interesting about the solutions Translift provides is getting involved with improving our products from knowledge gained from hundreds of applications over the years and offering solutions that only we can.
Translift have always led with innovations to Articulated Trucks and we all have a part to play in that. My personal values and main goals include always being straight and honest with our customers to offer the best solution – it pays off in the end!
Outside of work I have a variety of hobbies and interests. I enjoy playing golf, snowboarding and brewing beer.
